Connecting Experts is looking for an Business Development Manager in the UK to be responsible for the growth of the project pipeline in the UK market. The client is one of the leading and most successful (solar) energy companies based in the Netherlands. Active for more than 10 years in the development, sale, realization, and maintenance of large-scale solar ground mounted energy systems (Grid, Batteries and PV).
The Business Development Manager will spearhead the growth of the Solar EPC division, driving sales and expanding the company’s portfolio of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar projects. This role requires a deep understanding of the solar energy market, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
Your main tasks include:
- Generating contacts and maintaining relationships with project developers, consultants, investors, and owners of solar parks in UK/Ireland;
- Generating leads;
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve business growth objectives for solar EPC projects.
- Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
- Oversee contractual negotiations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and risk tolerance.
- Selling EPC projects based on the quotations made by a dedicated international tender team.
- Generating acquisition partnerships. In other words, finding development partners which the business could support in order to realize the project together.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, investors, government bodies, and large corporate clients.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Job requirements
- You must meet the following job requirements:
- Passion for entrepreneurship and developing new business;
- Relevant technical study direction at academic level
- At least 3 years of experience in the sale of large-scale complex technical projects;
- Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and financial modelling.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- International track record;
- Fluent English is a must;
- Experience in our industry is preferred, but not required.
