Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solar Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the operations and maintenance (O&M) of our solar energy installations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient performance, maximize energy output, and uphold the highest safety and quality standards across all projects. This role is critical in managing daily operations, supervising teams, and ensuring long-term success in the renewable energy sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management- Oversee the daily operations of solar power plants and installations.
- Monitor system performance to ensure optimal energy production.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Schedule, coordinate, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Team Leadership- Lead and manage a team of technicians, engineers, and support staff.
- Provide technical guidance and training to the O&M team.
- Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation.
Performance Monitoring- Utilize data analytics and monitoring systems to track energy production and identify underperformance issues.
- Prepare and present performance reports, highlighting key metrics and improvement opportunities.
Compliance & Safety- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and environmental policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain operational integrity and safety.
- Address and mitigate any operational risks or hazards.
Stakeholder Coordination- Collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, resolving queries and concerns efficiently.
Budgeting & Cost Optimization- Develop and manage operational budgets for O&M activities.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards.
QualificationsEducational Background- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in solar energy (e.g., NABCEP or equivalent) are a plus.
Experience- 5+ years of experience in solar energy operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record in managing O&M of solar PV systems.
Technical Skills- In-depth knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, monitoring platforms, and grid integration.
- Proficiency in performance monitoring tools and software (e.g., SCADA, PVsyst).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance protocols.
