ROLE OVERVIEW
To coordinate construction execution for NEOM Operations Community projects. Liaise with internal teams and relevant stakeholders as required to ensure construction projects progress in accordance with project requirements.
The Project Engineer will have also a background in design management and is expected to support the Design Manager with design reviews and approvals when required.

The Coordinator - Community Project Engineer SMP responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Key Accountabilities
Project Planning and Execution
- Manage and coordinate the various stages of the project execution, including management of contractors and subcontractors.
- Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.
- Interacting with Clients and Stakeholders, interpreting their needs and representing them in the field.
- Cooperating and communicating with the Project Manager and other project participants and
- collaborating with Senior Engineers to create efficient project methods and maintain the project’s profitability.
- Monitor daily progress, review engineering tasks, carry out inspections, and initiate necessary corrective actions.
- Responsible for maintaining project records including drawings, specifications, logs, financial reports, and project correspondence.
- Ensuring the project’s compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance, standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with Contractor and Stakeholders to manage and resolve project issues and ensure the project achieves milestones and deliverables.
- Provide regular and accurate project reporting to Line Management and Stakeholders, ensuring they are kept informed of project status, challenges, and achievements.
- Ability to close out completed projects, including coordinating testing & commissioning, project handovers and tracking and closing construction related deficiencies and exceptional items.
- Willing to be on-call or on-duty in line with business requirements during weekends and official holidays.
Safety
- Maintain a knowledge of safety requirements and collaborate with Contractors to drive an exemplary safety culture on site.
- Perform regular safety inspections and identify safety hazards on site. Manage any hazards and risks in coordination with Contractors to ensure a safe working environment for all.
Quality
Performing Quality tasks on budgets, schedules, plans and personnel performance.
Design and Technical Management
- Site Supervision and review of design packages to ensure works are carried out in accordance with NEOM’s Engineering Codes and Standards.
- Supports the Design Manager in design review processes and management of technical issues.
- Assists in making technical decisions regarding the project issues and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations (IBC, NEOM)
- Verifies that construction is aligned with the design requirements, drawings and specifications.
- Coordinates effectively with NEOM technical Stakeholders, such as ETSD and Planning & Technical Affairs Team.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 3+ years’ in infrastructure construction, including experience with design coordination.
- Ability to adapt quickly, problem-solve, and make effective decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective networks.
- Excellent communicator (verbal and written) and a good command of English.
- Proficient in MS Professional Office Suite
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent.
- Professional membership of relevant Institute is desirable i.e. Project Management Professional (PMP)
