We want to deliver a responsible and sustainable energy future, supporting our clients through the energy transition and meeting net zero targets
Xodus is already delivering projects that are helping to decarbonise the traditional oil & gas sector, as well as working on low carbon energies sources such as hydrogen. This range of work represents new and exciting challenges for Process & Facilities Engineers to apply their skills.
We are, primarily, problem-solvers - applying ourselves to our clients' challenges and their requests for help. Complementing our decades of engineering consultancy experience in the traditional oil and gas sector, we relish the new opportunities brought by the transformation of the energy market, providing interesting and meaningful work in the years ahead.
Process Engineers in Xodus will be at the forefront of these changes in the energy industry, fundamental to the delivery of sustainable emission reduction projects, through electrification, CCUS, Hydrogen and more. However, in many ways, we are also already contributing to this effort in using our current capabilities to minimise the impact of existing plants, equipment and traditional technologies through efficiency optimisation. We are also supporting the development of lower carbon intensity energy sources, allowing solid fuels to be backed out through a ‘Pivot to Gas' approach.
Emission reduction measures require process engineers to optimise and challenge existing operating practices to reduce flaring and energy requirements. In turn, our process engineers help drive digital solutions and plant modifications to support our clients globally on their sustainable pathway to net zero.
Purpose of the Role
Xodus is seeking highly motivated, talented and client-focused process engineers with first-hand practical design and operational knowledge to join our team in assisting our clients with the scoping, development and execution of their bold, new, energy projects.
Requirements
Do you have some of the following?
The role demands a dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Process Engineer with proven experience of process design and/or plant operations within the energy sector, who also possesses an active interest in assisting clients, and the wider energy industry, through the transition to Net Zero.
In response, they can expect to support assignments across much of the energy spectrum, working with multi-discipline teams across Xodus, including members from our subsea, decommissioning, renewables, environmental, and advisory divisions.
The successful candidate will join our Process & Facilities team, who are experienced in using engineering knowledge and judgement to find and implement first class, proactive solutions for our clients, under the direction of the Process & Facilities Manager or individual Project / Study Lead.
They will be required to perform all-manner of process engineering activities, including:
- line sizing/pressure loss, control element, relief system & equipment sizing calculations;
- building process simulations to model, replicate and optimise industry operations;
- develop process concepts, scheme flow diagrams and/or P&IDs,
- support safety assessments, and interface with other discipline engineers, and
- conduct techno-economic analyses spanning the range of technology selections through to area / basin-wide development plans to inform optimum selections
The optimal candidate will be a team player, capable of producing well-written and technically accurate study reports, communicating complex Engineering concepts in a straightforward manner to peers, other engineers, project managers and clients alike. They should be adaptable to varying assignments at short notice and comfortable with multi-tasking to ensure delivery of concurrent assignments, as well as being capable and willing to coach and support less experienced engineers, as required.
Innovative and creative thinking are part of the culture in Xodus, so all of our engineers are required to demonstrate their fundamental interest and proven track record in problem solving.
In return, Xodus offers an IChemE Accredited Training Scheme (ACTS) and mentoring programme to support the candidate in achieving their Chartered Engineer status.
