Wardell Armstrong's acoustics team forms a constituent part of the acoustics and air quality service area. The vacancy is in our Cardiff office; however, we also have teams in Glasgow, Bolton and Leeds. Our acousticians work on a wide range of projects throughout the UK and abroad, and we now have a vacancy for a vibrant and passionate person to join our dynamic team of acousticians.
The Opportunity
We currently have a position available in the acoustics team and we would be interested to hear from consultants with a minimum of 5 years experience and considering Senior, Principal or Associate Director level appointments. The role will include management of your own projects, from proposal through monitoring and modelling to delivery of the report. Our acoustics work is varied and includes, residential, infrastructure, commercial and mixed-use developments, health care, education, minerals, waste and renewable energy.
Working alongside senior members of the wider Acoustics team, you will develop the skills required to deliver acoustic work to a high standard for our clients. You will undertake noise assessment works, project management and business development. You will be involved from the initial conception of a development scheme to the completion of the project. The Firm will support your development and progression within the business through formal and informal training.
You
The successful applicant will have a good level of experience in environmental and/or building acoustics and be familiar with the application of all relevant guidance, operation of noise and vibration measurement equipment, and noise modelling software. You would ideally have experience in the preparation of Environmental Statements, and wind turbine assessments.
You should be educated to degree level in a relevant area, such as Acoustic Engineering or equivalent, or the Institute of Acoustics Diploma, and hold MIOA status.
You will have good organisational, report writing, and project management skills. You should have excellent IT skills, be proficient using MS Word & Excel, and comfortable processing large data sets in a spreadsheet.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential as you will be expected to travel to sites throughout the UK as and when required.
