You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the workforce and the sustainability of environmental resources. This position is instrumental in driving the company's commitment to safety and environmental stewardship, reflecting its core values and dedication to responsible business practices.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the EHS Team and wider business management team in developing, implementing and maintaining Health, Safety and Environmental standards, documents and record keeping throughout the site.
This role will suit a recent graduate/early careers candidate with a real interest in EHS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with Internal and external EHS inspections and audits.
- Assist management in the development of new EHS procedures and systems.
- Assist with the coordination of all EHS activities in the organisation.
- Development of the site Environmental Roadmap.
- Support the implementation of ISO 50001.
- Working Cross- functionally with facilities.
- Support EHS Committee Meetings and maintain records (Minutes / Actions).
- Support EHS Advisor / EHS Manager in implementation of effective environmental, health, safety processes.
- Monitoring and analysis of EHS data.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Be actively involved in any process improvement or quality investigation with regard to EHS Matters.
- Provide administrative support relating to EHS department.
- Updating internal trackers and registers.
- Promote safe working practices and drive EHS Initiatives onsite including leading by example.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrable experience operating in a similar type role within a manufacturing environment.
- Clear and concise writing skills.
- Effective communication.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks at short notice.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- IT skills – High level working knowledge of Microsoft Office - essential to have Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- A practical, flexible and resourceful approach to work.
Qualifications/Education:
- EHS Qualification (any level).
- NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
- IEMA Foundation certificate (desirable).
- Degree is desirable.
- Member of IOSH is desirable.
