Three Sixty Aquaculture Ltd is at the forefront of sustainable aquaculture innovation. We specialise in high-quality shrimp production using advanced Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), targeting premium markets, including Michelin-starred restaurants and direct-to-consumer channels. As part of our expanding team, we are looking for a passionate and skilled Technician to join us at our R&D facility in Queens Dock.
About the Role
As a Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our R&D and production operations initially and then at our new site in Neath. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with hands-on technical expertise and a desire to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Part 2: Responsibilities
1. Animal Husbandry:Conduct daily husbandry tasks in all systems in order to keep livestock happy and healthy.
- ·Routine grading and weighing of livestock, transferring aquatic species between systems and appropriate treatment of any shrimp
- Ensure the health and wellbeing of the livestock. This includes routine physical and behavioural assessments, as well as skin scrapes and checking of eye, fin and sucker conditions.
- Daily water quality testing of system water and treatment of incoming water
- Clean tanks and filtration system daily
- Feed animals according to feeding schedule
- Assist with vaccinating animals
- Prepare of live feeds, where required
- Record keeping for animal movements, mortalities, etc in alignment with CEFAS
- Inventory taking of food, chemicals and other items needed for the production cycle
2. Systems Maintenance & Repair: Ensure systems support healthy & happy livestock environment.
- Completion of morning and afternoon checks to ensure that the systems are running optimally and to identify and rectify any issues with systems.
- Monitor water and system parameters.
- Diagnose any potential problems with the system and act quickly to resolve them in a timely manner to protect the livestock and facility
- Accurate record keeping for all aspects of the facility
- Data collection and entry for production record keeping
3. Policy & Procedure: Success is measured in the detail. How you do anything is how you do everything.
- Implement good biosecurity practice and maintain necessary records in compliance with Biosecurity plan, for the system and the facility as a whole e.g. handwash and visitor log book
- Be aware of Health & Safety requirements and responding to anything out of alignment and following protocol. Making sure extension cables are secured. wires aren’t hanging, electrical cables secured.
- Keep storage areas and common areas tidy in order to ensure proper care of equipment, to prevent accidents and ensure that tools/ kit is easily accessible.
4. Innovation/Project Management: Contribute to the company and industry’s evolution and growth.
- Take ownership of a particular aspect of production, systems maintenance, policy, or contribution to new ventures as aligned with personal development goals and under guidance of management.
5. Self-Management, Team Participation & Personal Leadership: Participate in the team and the business as if it were your own.
- Be part of a rota to provide weekend cover and 24-hour alarm cover.
- Keep up to date with industry standards and recommend site improvements to Management
- Communicate regularly with the rest of the team and Management regarding any potential issues
- Taking initiative for critical business activities e.g. feeding timings, water quality checks on all systems, and for general tidiness and keeping things in their proper place e.g. tool return

- Valid UK driving license for travel between Swansea and Neath site and for evening alarm cover
