- Hands on Senior Engineer with experience of working within high performance development teams
- Define and develop the target FTSE Russell Index data Conceptual and Logical Data models collaborating with Tech, Business and Strategy
- Create, maintain, and socialise physical data models to enable development of physical data stores.
- Create and support the creation of Interface and Data Product logical models.
- AWS Engineering experience implementing Amazon well architected frameworks, serverless solutions and improving existing platforms using AWS technologies with Agile delivery methods
- Demonstrable experience of developing solutions with Python 3, Python data management/manipulation libraries and usage of Python with AWS components
- Experience with No-SQL and Relational databases and data analysis using SQL.
Education & Work experience:
- 5+ years of AWS and Python development engineer experience within the Financial Services and Data domains
- Good background and proven experience of data modelling for data platforms, including working within teams of data modellers.
- Previous experience of delivering strategic data solutions against financial data and market reference data requirements (e.g., equities, debt instruments, corporate actions, etc.) in banking and financial services or similar regulated organisations
- Solid grasp of Data Governance and Data Management concepts, including metadata management, master data management and data quality
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or IT related field or equivalent IT related experience.
IT Skills
- Experience of Cloud Data solutions, AWS preferred
- Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, RDS, (e.g. DynamoDB, Aurora Postgres), SQS, API Gateway, Athena
- Good experience of Python, both within AWS solutions and Python development.
- Direct, demonstratable experience of the delivery and optimization of high-performance data pipelines
- Good hands-on practical data modelling experience
- Practical experience of defining and working with data products within a marketplace environment
- Experience of working with Interface data models and understanding of data model interaction with Metamodels and metadata
- Strong experience in alignment of technology data concepts to business outcomes and processes
- Familiar with DevOps practises
- Familiar with container technologies
