We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced time served Mechanical Maintenance Machining Technician to join the team here at Stanlow Refinery.
The role holder will be an integral part of the Maintenance Team that continuously delivers predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance services to support our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
S Specific responsibilities include:
- To work as part of a multi disciplined Maintenance Team to provide Machine Shop Services including the manufacture and repair of Rotating and Static Equipment on the Stanlow Site complying with UK and ESSAR’s National and International Codes of Practice and Standards.
- To provide a Machine Shop Service including the manufacture, repair and reverse engineering of component parts, evaluating and interpreting technical drawings.
- Providing safe and cost-effective services to the business, with minimum impact on the environment
- Supporting Refinery Shutdowns/Projects as when required
- Raising incidents that provide learning opportunities and participate in follow up corrective action.
- Mentoring both peers and apprentices to develop the next generation of skilled employees.
- Adding value as a multi-skilled or core-skilled technician to improve plant reliability.
- * About You
Our ideal candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of maintaining a rotating petrochemical plant in line with relevant standards.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of working to API Standards for rotating equipment and other industry related standards for work on static mechanical equipment.
You Will Have
- A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship preferably in a COMAH related sector
- C&G, NVQ, ONC/HNC or equivalent in a mechanical field
- Proficient IT skills
In depth knowledge and experience of operating Horizontal & Vertical Boring Machines, Centre Lathes & Manual Millers.In depth knowledge of Speeds & Feeds for Machining both Ferrous, Non-Ferrous and Plastic Materials.Computer Aided Drawing experienceMeasuring equipment calibration experienceWill be expected to complete a trade test in Central Workshops machine shop under supervision
To be successful in this role, you will have a sound understanding of operational safety management systems including permit to work & PUWER along withrepair & manufacturing techniques in both workshops and plant environments.
