We are building the world’s largest plant to produce green ammonia at scale, providing humankind with a cost-efficient solution that will accelerate the worldwide green hydrogen economy. Located in NEOM and supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, NGHC will be integrating up to 4GW of onshore solar and wind energy to supply up to 650 tons of green ammonia per day for transportation globally. Operations will go onstream in 2026. Liaise/Cooperate With: NGHC PWEs O&M Team, OEMs, Contractors, APEPC Team, EPMS Team-NGHC EHS Team, GHE O&M & EHS Team.
POSITION SUMMARY
Control Room Operator shall be responsible to operate 2.97 GW dc solar farm in NEOM region. The main objective to operate the PV plant in a smooth, reliable & efficient manner by actively contributing to the safety of plant personnel and plant assets.
NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are:
- Operate the 2.97 GW dc solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in compliance with OEM recommendations and approved SOPs.
- Establish diligent Coordination among power elements (Wind/OHTL) & Hydrogen production plant in NEOM region.
- Actively participate in plant Commissioning activities & safety compliance workshops.
- Enthusiastic to propose the Continuous improvement suggestion to keep elevating & enabling the best plant O&M practices.
- Plant Performance reporting & Its analysis. Deriving the key improvement area along with O&M team to optimise the Plant performance as per plant O&M KPIs benchmarking.
- Timely Escalation of system information to relevant team or department as per communication matrix.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Quality Operation Practices:
- Actively participate in Preparation of plant Standard Operating Procedures, Energization/ De energization switching sequences.
- Responsible to support in generating the preliminary Incident report for any plant incident within the stipulate time.
- Maintaining the system fault/incident log properly with a proper corrective action perform by maintenance team against each incident on daily basis either the in the CMMS system or manual.
- Comprehend & analysis the equipment behavior from the series of incident logs & proactively advice the lead operator to take necessary proactive action before the system got unavailable for longer period.
- Coordinate with maintenance team to adhere with optimum response time towards a corrective action notification raised by SCADA team.
- Support & involve in the commissioning activities to be performed in compliance with approved procedures, method statements & risk assessment. Raise the punch point if any compliance deviated from its actual standards.
- Check & confirm with maintenance team that every maintenance is finished with proper simulation checks & verification after every maintenance to ensure the equipment operational healthiness before Energization.
- Familiar with Plant CMMS system such as SAP, GIM etc. to build the historical data base for real analytics.
- Responsible for shift handover of all the information; data & records has been Passover to next shift with complete details & accuracy. No communication gap should evolve during shift handover.
- Respond on time for any emergency call outs requirements.
- Familiar with plant maintenance philosophy to support the O&M practices wherever required.
Reporting Matrix & Documentation
- Support in preparation of Operation, Performance & Analysis Report as per reporting matrix.
- Follow up & share the recommendation to lead operator to ensure the plant smooth, reliable & efficient operation.
Interdepartmental Communication & Coordination
- Extend the required support & proper communication to other departments & PWEs in timely manner to ensure smooth & effective operation of the company.
- Keep close & necessary Interaction with site operation & maintenance team to avoid communication gap & delay in equipment restoration.
HSSE
- Verify with maintenance team that they are adhering to approved WMSRA & HSE Plan/ PTW for every activity.
- Responsible to ensure & provide an adequate isolation/LOTO of an Equipment/asset under maintenance as per OEM recommendations.
- Ensure every PTW associated documents are available before approving the PTW. (Such as calibration certificate, Cold/Hot/CSP work etc.)
- Participate/ Assist to review/ revise the task risk assessment (TRA) time to time.
- Participate actively in emergency response plan as per approved ERP.
- Support in executing the emergency response drills.
- Assist when needed in the HSE incidents/ accident investigation.
- Ensures the isolations/ deisolation and LOTO applications are applied as per SLD/ switching sequence.
- Ensure live work permit procedure is followed for testing on energized equipment or components.
SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
Professional in Microsoft Operating System (MS office).
- Mechanical or Electric/Electronic components fundamental knowledge
- Leadership skill, negotiation skills & interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to describe the Plant Performance Issues in short & effective way.
- Awareness of Solar plant SCADA system & ARCS operating system.
- Knowledge of Solar Inverters System, Solar Tracking System & Substation Operation & Maintenance preferably HV/MV GIS substation.
- Advanced analytical, technical skills and knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as instrumentation & Electrical testing equipment.
- Deliverables on Time & Adaptability: - Be Enthusiastic & energetic to provide required deliverable within the time frame with quality standard.
- Lead & guide his team in line with company objectives & deliverables.
ESSENTIAL YEARS OF EXPIERENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- A high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical, Instrument or Electromechanical Engineering with minimum 3 years of experience within a solar plant capacity greater & equal to 100MW.
- Specialized in MV/HV & DC systems Operations, Switching sequence preparations, Plant Performance report preparation & analytics.
DESIRED EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- A high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical, Instrument or Electromechanical Engineering with minimum 6+ years of experience in Leading the team of Operators within solar plant capacity greater & equal to 100MW.
- He must have a Sound knowledge on electrical system such as Power Transformers, Substation (GIS), Inverters, RMUs, PV- technology etc.
