Role overview:
Reporting to the Water Mobility Fleet & Operations Manager, the Water Mobility Ports Manager will oversee all operational and maintenance aspects of NEOM Water Mobility port and jetty facilities. This includes all associated terminal buildings, associated jetties and berthing areas as well as management of any contracted port management and/or facility management company.
This role will be the first line representative for a contracted port management company and will take care of the daily interactions with that organization’s representative. Therefore, maintaining a close working relationship with such an operator is vital, as is a personable and flexible approach. A key requirement of the role is to ensure a seamless and high-quality service delivery to guarantee that all customers using Water Mobility maritime facilities are delighted by the experience.
The Water Mobility Ports Manager also form close ties with the relevant Water Mobility client proponent(s) in order to ensure their complete satisfaction in relation to their vessel and logistics services.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES
- Ensure the safe and effective operation of all Water Mobility ports and jetties.
- Support the provision of ferry and logistic vessel services to NEOM Islands.
- Oversee the service performance of a contracted port manager ensure they are safely and efficiently delivering a reliable and high-quality port service.
- Work closely with the NEOM client proponents and other customers to ensure their operational needs are being wholly satisfied.
- Conduct regular meetings with the contracted port manager to ensure the smooth running of the contract.
- Provide analysis of any identify service offering problems with a view to identify common issues, trends and working with the contracted port manager to introduce any required corrective action.
- Review all contracted port manager operational reports, in particular the KPI report, to ensure all deliverables are maintained on track, holding the contracted port manager to account if they are not.
- Carry out regular operational inspections on all Water Mobility port and jetty facilities to ensure that all operational and maintenance aspects are being effectively and conscientiously completed.
Experience & Qualifications
- Be a Graduate / postgraduate degree in a ports and maritime operations discipline, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the operation of ports and/or harbours, especially those that are related to public ferry services or equivalent public transport operations.
- Complete fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in Arabic will be an advantage.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel and Word), with knowledge in other presentational and organizational products or multi-media tools being an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Highly developed creative thinking, problem-solving, research, analytical, oral and written communication skills required.
- Expertise in the shore-side operation of short-sea ferry services.
- Experience with managing third-party contractors.
- Familiarity with the operational and HSEQ requirements of managing port and jetty facilities.
- Specific examples of work and project experience in the Middle East region is an advantage.
- High-level communication and presentation skills and ability to interact with a diverse set of p rofessional disciplines, customers, partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
