This specific opportunity is based in Stockport Town Centre, you will work as part of a wider team keeping the Town Centre clean. However you will work alone with a Ped-orderly barrow, litter picking, emptying litter bins and manual sweeping. You must therefore be self-motivated, and take pride in your work
Are you looking for a new role? We have an exciting opportunity to join our established Street Care team working across the Borough.
What does the TLC Street Care team do?
The Street Care team maintain high quality horticultural features and achieve street cleansing standards and undertake general grounds maintenance duties.
The team are responsible for keeping the streets of Stockport, including the Town Centre, clean and tidy. You can see the team mowing verges, emptying litter, removing surface water from gullys and so much more.
What you will be doing in this role
Street Cleansing
- You'll be sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, emptying litter bins, removing weeds, debris and refuse, cleaning road signs and litter bins. Where required you'll remove graffiti and fly posting or other offensive material.
Grounds
- You'll undertake general maintenance and operational duties in green & recreational areas including highway verges, landscaped areas, planted areas, council properties, sports facilities, cemeteries, schools and other public amenities, high profile lawn areas, fine turf and sports turf, horticultural features.
General
- You'll undertake winter maintenance duties including manual gritting, filling and siting of grit bins and snow/ice clearance, as required.
- You'll assist in the recycling of waste collected, wherever possible
- At all times you'll undertake duties in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with established safe systems of work, policies and procedures.
