Due to continued business growth, EnerGenix Engineering is seeking an experienced Solar PV Design Engineer to join our team on a permanent or self-employed basis.
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented solar PV designer with expertise in PV*SOL, PVsyst, and/or Aurora. Experience with AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, and/or ElectricalOM is highly desirable. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large national contract, as well as contributing to the design and development of domestic, commercial, and utility-scale solar PV installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and specify solar PV systems for various scales, ensuring compliance with MCS standards.
- Utilise PV design software (PV*SOL, PVsyst, and/or Aurora) to produce high-quality designs.
- Incorporate Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) into PV system designs.
- Engage with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), managing application submissions and ensuring compliance with design requirements.
- Complete formal grid connection applications (G98, G99) as required.
- Provide technical expertise and support, acting as the go-to person for design-related queries during project development.
- Ensure project ROI is maximised, selecting and recommending well-engineered, cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to deliver tailored solutions within their project specifications.
Requirements:
- A degree or HND/HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or significant experience in PV design and installation.
- Proven experience in designing and specifying solar PV systems across domestic, commercial, and utility scales.
- Proficiency in PV design software (PV*SOL, PVsyst, and/or Aurora).
- Experience working with BESS and integrating storage solutions into PV systems.
- Strong knowledge of DNO processes, including grid application submissions.
- A Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations would be advantageous.
Location & Work Arrangements:
Although this is a technically focused position, liaising directly with clients in person or virtually will be required. Therefore, this is a hybrid role, with some travel to London/Kent. Specific working arrangements will be discussed at the interview stage.
