GROUND MAINTENANCE ENGINEER / MECHANIC with a focus on Aerostructures
We’re seeking a dynamic Ground Maintenance Engineer (Aerostructure) Mechanic. You’ll play a key role in assembling, integrating, and testing cutting-edge high-altitude solar-powered UAVs, supporting flight operations both in the UK and abroad.
You’ll also collaborate with customers on payload integration and engage with external partners to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare aerostructures for flight and support test flight trials in the UK and overseas.
- Diagnose and communicate issues effectively while working within a team.
- Assist with qualification and acceptance testing.
- Contribute to work packages and present findings to peers.
- Ensure flight readiness by working collaboratively with the team.
- Provide ground maintenance input during design reviews.
- Support quality assurance and product integrity.
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Undertake additional tasks to maintain operational effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and driven team player.
- Flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering quality work on time.
- Experience in assembly, integration, and testing.
- Skilled in working with composites, especially lightweight, high-quality components.
- Hands-on airframe experience in a multi-skilled role.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Overseas deployment experience.
- Knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) technologies.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks.
- Experience in composite laminating and quality production techniques.
- Knowledge of aviation standards, maintenance processes, and airworthiness practices.
- High attention to engineering hygiene and discipline.

Location
- Hampshire, UK
- Overseas deployment for 3-5 months annually, with occasional 8-week assignments.
Principal Terms and Conditions:
- Post – Permanent
- Salary – to be agreed depending on experience.
- Pension – 10% contribution from the company included
- Leave – 25 days plus bank holidays
- Working time 37.5 hrs per week
