Software Product Manager (AC and DC EV Chargers)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum
Location: Kent HQ (Remote Working - 1x Per Month)

My client is a leading provider of innovative EV charging solutions for the UK and European markets. Their mission is to drive the future of sustainable mobility. They are seeking an EV Charging Software Product Manager to lead the development of software solutions for AC and DC chargers, tailored to both B2B and end-user needs.
Key Responsibilities
Market and Customer Research
- Engage with end-users, EV charger installers, and B2B customers to uncover software pain points and requirements for AC and DC chargers.
- Conduct market research to identify product-market fit for customisable software solutions across home, commercial, and public charging applications.
- Travel to the EU occasionally for user research and feedback gathering.
Product Requirement Development
- Define overarching software requirements based on customer insights and market trends.
- Collaborate with hardware product managers to ensure software and hardware compatibility while meeting regulatory and market demands.
Customisable Software Solutions
- Develop a customisable home charging app featuring energy management, remote control, and smart home integration.
- Create a commercial and public charging platform addressing user management, billing, and access control, alongside remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance.
Customer-Centric Approach
- Analyse customer specifications to identify additional value-driven features for ODM projects.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to position software as a key differentiator for customers.
Technical Oversight
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and industry standards like OCPP.
- Oversee IoT protocol integration for seamless operation and management of chargers.
Innovation and Business Strategy
- Drive innovation with future-proof features that enhance usability and operational efficiency.
- Provide insights on monetisation strategies for software offerings, building competitive advantages for B2B ODM solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 3 years of experience in software product management, preferably in the EV charging or IoT industry.
- Proven experience improving software user experience, with a focus on creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience working in multicultural environments to facilitate effective collaboration and understanding.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy, and IoT protocols.
- Ability to learn quickly, think proactively, and work independently to drive results.
- Willingness to travel overseas (up to two months per year) and occasionally to the EU for research.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
