This role reports directly into the Strategy & Insights Director.
The Strategy & Insights is a multi-disciplinary function that sits within PXC’s Corporate Services. It brings together Insights, Corporate Strategy and Sustainability & ESG.
About Your Role
As Sustainability & ESG Manager, you will be the subject matter expert for Sustainability & ESG at PXC.
You develop strategic plans and oversee their execution by actively working and engaging with key stakeholders across the business.
This role is highly visible within the organisation with its work reaching up to Board-level and with frequent interactions into the organisation’s senior leaders.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Strategy: Design and implement long-term sustainability strategies that align with corporate goals.
- Programme Management: Translate the strategy into a clear plan, mobilise relevant stakeholders and track progress.
- Reporting: Monitor metrics and compile annual and ad hoc reports for senior management and external bodies.
- Risk Management: Monitor and manage sustainability & ESG-related risk.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with current policies, laws and regulations and stay up to date on upcoming changes.
- Best Practice: Stay up to date with standards, best practice and industry trends to keep our organisation’s policies, strategies and activities relevant.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead corporate sustainability communication and engagement with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. customers, colleagues, regulators, Board, investors).
- Education: Provide subject matter expertise, training and coaching within the organisation to foster a greater understanding of sustainability practices among employees and bring sustainability into decision.
What will make you successful in your role?
Essential
- A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability or related field, or equivalent experience with relevant postgraduate qualifications or certifications (e.g. IEMA)
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of sustainable practices, environmental regulations, and relevant technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Knowledge of key analytical frameworks (e.g. risk assessment, lifecycle analysis, etc.) and excellent ability to use data to inform strategy.
- Problem Solving: Ability to face into complex challenges with method and resolve them.
- Planning & Prioritisation: Ability to manage projects to scope, quality and costs, and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Communication: Ability to convey complex messages to diverse audiences across various channels.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Strong cross-functional working relationships, ability to easily navigate the business to get things done and motivate others through change.
Desirable
- Knowledge of ICT / TMT sector in general and Telecommunications specifically
- Experience leading sustainability in a large Corporate
