Arup has a unique offering in the energy sector, and we are taking a leading role in shaping future energy markets. We deliver some of the world's most ambitious programmes in the energy sector, bringing together technical, planning, design, commercial and operational expertise to provide our clients with a broad range of services through the entire lifecycle of projects. As a global policy, Arup only work on low-carbon energy projects and is involved in a wide range of projects across wind, solar, marine, tidal, hydroelectric, geothermal, hydrogen, nuclear, urban energy and energy networks and distribution. You will be joining a team of over 1800 energy specialist globally in Arup, and within our North Region, there are around 600 technical staff, operating from offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Newcastle and Stockton.
Our North Advisory team is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy, of which the Energy Advisory team is a key service offering. Our business has a focus on supporting Scotland, Northern Ireland and the UK's energy sector in developing a net-zero carbon economy. Our growing team offers a diverse range of advisory and design services ranging from market studies, option and site location strategies, technical studies, business case & investment advisory work.
We provide services to our clients in the following sectors:
- Hydrogen
- Onshore and Offshore Wind Energy
- Industrial Decarbonisation
- Urban Energy

We are currently recruiting for Energy Consultants to join our North Advisory Services team. With offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Newcastle & Stockton, we are flexible with which office you choose to work from on a hybrid basis. We have numerous roles at various levels, whether you are an experienced Energy Consultant, or just starting out in your career. If you have experience in any of the above sectors, we want to hear from you. Come and explore your potential at Arup. You can expect to be involved in advisory and design services such as project management, technical analysis and design, market studies, option and site location strategies, supply chain research, pre-FEED design, technical due diligence work and business case & investment advisory work. Alongside client engagement, bid preparation, business development and team management activities.
