We are working on some of the most exciting Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in the UK and internationally, including large scale energy projects – think GW rather than MW! This includes solar, offshore wind, international interconnector and energy storage projects. We are the EIA lead for the Gatwick Airport Northern Runway Project, Morgan and Mona Offshore Wind Projects, Morgan and Morecambe Transmission Assets, TWP, XLinks interconnector and a large portfolio of energy storage and solar projects.
The office location can be in either Abingdon, London, Cardiff, Manchester or Edinburgh.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be working within a multi-disciplinary environment with the opportunity to be part of a highly regarded environmental planning team. You’ll partner with the wider RPS Health Impact Assessment, sustainability, climate change, planning, landscape, ecology, heritage and transport teams. You’ll manage a range of EIA projects within a consultancy environment and provide advice on EIA Regulations and screen, scope and produce Environmental Statements.
A typical week could include:
- Working as a primary point of client contact on some of the leading EIA projects in the UK
- Drafting reports, including project descriptions, non-technical summaries, scoping report and bid documents
- Sign off of ES documents in preparation for client or legal review
- Provision of advice regarding all aspects of EIA, including client and legal queries
- Working with our digital and design teams to take a leading in further developing our capacity in digital EIA
- Working to mentor junior or new members of the team
- Preparation of bid/tender documents with our bid team, as required
- Opportunities to work across a range of sectors
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll have excellent report writing and review skills, be able to work collaboratively and have the ability to work with clients legal teams and other consultancies. A good eye for detail is essential as is strong problem-solving skills, helping to address client concerns and ‘make complex easy’. We’d like you to have:
- A first degree in a relevant environmental subject and ideally an MSc in a relevant topic e.g. Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management or similar
- Experience of working in a consultancy environment, including experience of managing EIA projects (essential)
- Detailed knowledge of the EIA process (essential)
- An eye for detail (essential)
- Previous digital EIA experience or relevant skills (desirable)
- Experience in working on NSIPs/DCO projects (desirable)
- Experience in the energy sector or on infrastructure projects (desirable)
- There will be some travel so a full UK driving license is required.
