Maritime Strategies International (MSI) Ltd is a dynamic and successful shipping consultancy business, with a global client base. We have a vacancy for a Decarbonisation Analyst.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting MSI’s business across all shipping sectors, providing a holistic understanding of the evolving decarbonisation landscape with an emphasis on zero-carbon fuels and energy-saving technologies' role in the transition. MSI is committed to enabling its client base to better understand the ramifications of the rapidly changing environment from a shipping (cargo), ship (emissions), and socioeconomic standpoint.
You will maintain our model of the Hydrogen Economy, contribute to reports, participate in a diverse range of consultancy and strategic advisory projects, and be the in-house " go-to” for all aspects of decarbonisation.
Highly motivated, the successful candidate will be able to meet demanding deadlines, be adaptable, learn quickly, and work successfully both in a team and individually.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain MSI’s database of decarbonisation projects, low or zero emission vessels and the techno-economic benefits of different fuel types.
- Update MSI’s inhouse models of the Hydrogen Economy and Alternative Fuels for Shipping
- Forecast trade in zero or low-carbon fuels or by-products e.g. green ammonia, CO2.
- Monitor regulatory developments, sector decarbonization objectives and shipping’s wider role in the energy transition in conjunction with MSI’s energy analysts.
- Keep up to date with all the latest decarbonisation technologies, strategies, and stakeholder interests
- Work with other MSI analysts to assess how different industry sectors will respond and adopt new technologies in the context of global and regional regulations and market forces.
- Assist with the writing of MSI’s regular reports on the Hydrogen Economy and Alternative Fuels
- Contribute to presentations, webinars, and consultancy projects.
- Support business development initiatives, product innovation and global marketing of MSI decarbonisation services
Experience & Education:
- Degree or higher in a numerate subject (e.g. Science, Math, Data Science, Economics)
- 2+ years of relevant analytical experience (academic or professional)
- A proven analytical track record with the ability to communicate methods and results clearly both internally and to clients in written reports and presentations
- The ability to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Advanced proficiency in Excel a distinct advantage, MS Office proficiency essential
