Make a tangible impact
As the Health, Safety and Environment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and controlling a comprehensive integrated health, safety, environmental, and security service at our Shotton site. This role involves leading involvement in appropriate Colors platforms, ensuring compliance with legislation, and adherence to company policies and standards related to health, safety, environment, and security.
You’ll be a key part of developing and implementing robust health, safety, climate change, and environmental policies and practices to improve employee safety and health. The Health, Safety and Environment Manager will own, develop, and manage the site environmental operating permits alongside updating, reviewing, and testing the site Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) at suitable intervals.
Other key responsibilities for this role include:
- Liaising with regulatory bodies, emergency services, customers, and the public to maintain a safe working environment, consents, authorizations, customer standards, and a positive public image.
- Advising on legislative changes and ensure compliance.
- Providing occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring services.
- Reporting and investigate incidents, providing evidence for legal defences.
- Preparing and apply business contingency plans.
- Providing Occupational Health services.
We see your potential
For this role you should be in possession of a NEBOSH qualification. Ideally, you will have experience working in a large manufacturing / heavily regulated environments.
It is desirable for you to have:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
- Environmental or Mental Health and Wellbeing qualification.
