We currently have a number of exciting opportunities for experienced maintenance technicians with a pipefitting or mechanical background to join our refinery Maintenance Team. We are looking for individuals to provide professional, efficient and competent mechanical maintenance support to our asset areas and service units. The successful applicants will be required to remove, install and maintain pipework and static equipment in accordance with all legislative, technical, quality and HSE standards. Some of the main accountabilities are shown below:
- Installation and removal of pipework and static mechanical equipment.
- Following isometric drawings to fabricate and install new and replacement parts
- Safe lifting and slinging of plant and equipment
- Making and Breaking Flanges including selection of gaskets and bolting materials
- Confined space working
- Valve removal, reinstatement and overhaul
- Pressure testing of hoses and other refinery equipment
- Interpretation of engineering drawings and following appropriate standards
- Maintenance of burners, soot blowers and air registers
- Working knowledge of refinery safety processes and relevant standards
- *About You
You should hold a recognised qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, ONC/HNC) or equivalent in a Mechanical field and have completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship. You should also have a sound understanding of operational safety management systems including permit to work. A thorough awareness of Engineering Quality Standards and management systems and you should also have a sound understanding of Petrochemical repair and manufacturing techniques in both workshops and plant environments. You should be proficient is IT skills including MS Office and have excellent communication skills.
