Working within the JD private label team at the head office in Bury, you will be part of a busy design and development office and interact with external departments and businesses across the Group.
JD private labels are an integral part of the JD retail offering, and these labels are designed, developed, and manufactured in house and our teams on these labels are targeted with the growth of sustainability throughout the business.
- Job Title – Sustainability Coordinator
- Location – JD Group, Hollins Brook Way, Pilsworth, Bury, BL9 8RR.
- Working rota – Monday to Friday
- Working hours – 8:30am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Proactively research and engage with the sourcing & product teams to develop a JD Own Brand sustainability strategy. Manage and own the project from Initiation to implementation and transition phases.
- Accountable for updating and maintenance of all project documents for the sustainability strategy, whilst monitoring and reporting on project progress.
- Sustainabilty strategy; forecast and execute priority projects to develop long terms sustainable development in response to develop business priorities.
- Prepare for and lead the Sustainabilty working group meetings across JD Own Brand & Outdoor facia.
- Highlight key projects and drive progress which arise out of the Sustainabilty Working Groups through stakeholder engagement and monitoring progress.
- Provide information and support to the Private Label product development teams to deliver the sustainability strategy.
- Research and propose actions for future improvement actions on sustainability/environmental initiatives within the supply chain.
- Support on group wide CSRD projects with head of sustainability on behalf of JD Private Labels.
- Maintain a high degree of awareness of current innovative sustainable solutions and forecasting of legislation.
- Attend key industry events.
- Work with Own Brand Design to create business trend reports for sustainabilty trends.
- Stakeholder in the department Digital Product Passport (DDP) project, research and advise on DDP Consumer Engagement.
- Engage with the social responsibility team on environmental processes and improvements within our supply chain, in line with the sustainabilty strategy.
- Collaborate with the Outdoor facia of the JD Group to drive sustainabilty and project engagement.
- Prepare key sustainability metrics for annual reporting.
- Annual reporting to the Better Cotton Initiative on private labels cotton consumption.
