Zurich Resilience Solutions is pivotal to supporting our customers internally and externally, with market leading climate risk management solutions and we have an exciting opportunity for a Climate Change Consultant to join our diverse and passionate team. We are in a period of growth and are looking for ambitious individual to be part of our UK team to support our global customer base.
The opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven consultant to join our team and support our growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in client delivery and winning business, and a strong ability to develop, implement and manage strategies for the growth of our climate change & sustainability proposition.
This is the perfect role for an individual who has experience with climate and sustainability consultancy and has a passion to support organisations to develop their climate change resilience. The ideal candidate will have experience in working on climate change and environmental sustainability projects, this could be with corporate organisations, local authority, or charities. An insurance background is not necessary.
Our customer base ranges across the Public and Private sector, from mid-market to Global. This position is home based however there will be a requirement to create relationships with key stakeholders which will mean spending regular time in our London office and travelling to customer locations.

What will you be doing?
Climate Risk Assessments:
- Conduct thorough climate risk assessments for clients, identifying potential vulnerabilities and exposures to climate-related hazards. Undertake these assessments on either a desktop and on-site assessments for flood, natural hazards, and wind as part of risk management survey programmes in-line with global practice guidelines.
- Utilise climate models, GIS tools, and other analytical methods to evaluate risks and project future climate impacts.
Resilience Planning and Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement tailored climate resilience strategies and action plans for clients, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Recommend specific adaptation and mitigation measures to enhance clients' resilience to climate change.
- Produce bespoke risk assessment and risk improvement reports to a professional standard and delivered to stakeholders in a timely manner.
Client Advisory and Support:
- Provide expert advice to clients on climate adaptation and resilience, helping them understand risks and opportunities.
- Support clients in integrating climate resilience into their overall business strategies and operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including other risk consultants, underwriting, marketing/communications and sustainability, to ensure a cohesive approach to climate resilience.
- Build capacity within client organizations to enhance their ability to manage climate-related risks independently.
Business Development:
- Deliver growth and generate business opportunities in the Climate Change and Sustainability sector to support the team’s targets.
- Proactively manage customer accounts to support their needs and drive revenue for ZRS
- Support the identification of new opportunities for climate resilience services and contribute to business development efforts.
- Support the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing the value of climate resilience consulting.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about the latest developments in climate science, policy, and technology to provide cutting-edge solutions.
- Continuously improve methodologies and tools used for climate risk assessment and resilience planning.
- Ensure all climate resilience projects comply with relevant regulations
What are we looking for?
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in a climate related topic and/or Risk Management
- Related experience in assessing a range of risks and the adequacy of control measures (primarily flood, natural hazards, wind, and heat)
- Knowledge of risk management
- Strong understanding and delivery experience of climate change impacts, risk assessment methodologies, and adaptation strategies.
- Experience with climate modelling, GIS, and other analytical tools.
- A track record of business development success in the sustainability consulting environment.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences, including excellent presentation and customer engagement skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
