Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical equipment, pipelines, and components used in the gas compression and upstream pipeline infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and relevant standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM).
- Review and verify the quality of mechanical materials, welding, fabrication, installation, and commissioning processes.
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, identifying any discrepancies or areas requiring corrective action.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Assist in the review and approval of method statements and quality plans.
- Perform dimensional inspections and verify alignment, fit-up, and tolerances for mechanical components.
- Monitor mechanical equipment during installation and commissioning to ensure correct functionality and performance.
- Identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions to maintain project quality and safety.
- Ensure all mechanical work complies with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Support the completion of final inspections and assist in the certification of equipment for handover.
Qualifications
- B.S degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with at least 8 years of experience
- Non-Metallic Welding Experience is Mandatory
- Previous experience working on a water transmission line project
- CSWIP or AWS certification Mandatory
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, welding techniques, pressure vessels, pipelines, and rotating equipment
- Preferred familiarity with: CWI, API 570, API 653/API 510, API 686, 610, 618, 682
