Salary: £40,000-£55,000 depending on experience
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week
Location: The role is primarily in-person at the workshop in Witney, Oxfordshire

We are an ambitious startup at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution, developing a pioneering battery-integrated EV charger with advanced power conversion technology. We aim to be the technology provider behind the next generation of EV charging solutions (a trillion dollar global market) that enable rapid vehicle turnaround from any location, no matter the power available.
We are developing our nascent technology, aiming towards deployment of tested systems to customers from 2025. We’re looking for high performers to join our team, help us to grow and grow with us.
About the Role
Your role will encompass a variety of development tasks, testing, and research. You will be directly contributing to the development of our technology and first products, from design through to testing and production.
As an early member of the team, you will be able to influence our operations, processes and culture. Flexibility is essential, we often need everyone in the team to pitch in across different areas of our growing business - whether that’s to assemble a desk or print a PCB, it’s all hands on deck.

Key Accountabilities
- Functional Requirement Definition – Develop and document system requirements and specifications.
- System Modeling & Diagrams – Create clear, structured system architecture and functional diagrams.
- Test Planning & Execution – Design test procedures and actively participate in test setup creation.
- Interdisciplinary Integration – Balance electrical and mechanical considerations in system development.
- Battery Technology Awareness – Understand energy storage and management principles to guide system decisions.
Responsibilities
- Define and document functional requirements for complex systems.
- Develop block diagrams, system schematics, and process workflows for design clarity.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure seamless electrical-mechanical integration.
- Develop test plans and procedures, ensuring robust validation of system performance.
- Set up, execute, and troubleshoot test setups, ensuring real-world reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, and mechanical).
- Support product lifecycle from concept to implementation, ensuring all components align with system requirements.

About You
- Education & Experience
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with functional requirement descriptions, system diagrams, and test setups.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in system modeling tools.
- Experience creating block diagrams, flowcharts, and architecture schematics.
- Understanding of test planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Strong electrical-mechanical integration mindset.
