Job Summary
The Senior Manager - Coordination - Public Realm will be a highly experienced and results-oriented professional responsible for leading and managing all aspects of public realm coordination within the NEOM The Line project. This role requires a deep understanding of urban design, landscape architecture, and placemaking principles, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive public realm strategy for The Line, ensuring the creation of vibrant, engaging, and sustainable public spaces.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and community members, to ensure the integrated design and delivery of high-quality public realm spaces.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of public spaces, including parks, plazas, streetscapes, and waterfront areas.
- Develop and implement innovative placemaking strategies to activate and enliven public spaces.
- Ensure the safety, accessibility, and sustainability of all public realm spaces.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of public spaces and make necessary adjustments to optimize their use and enjoyment.
- Develop and implement policies and guidelines related to the design, construction, and maintenance of public realm spaces.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in urban design, landscape architecture, and placemaking.
- Contribute to the development of a smart city ecosystem that integrates public realm spaces with other urban systems.
- Represent Parsons in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in urban design, landscape architecture, or public realm development.
- Proven experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of urban design principles, landscape architecture practices, and placemaking strategies.
- Experience with the design, implementation, and operation of public spaces in complex urban environments.
- Strong understanding of sustainable design principles and environmental considerations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
