We are seeking a dedicated and driven Sustainability & Net Zero Technical Support graduate to support the Head of Propositions for Sustainability and Net Zero by overseeing the delivery of services related to sustainability and data-driven sustainability projects.
This role involves providing the technical support and carbon accounting on projects, business cases, funding bids and feasibility studies to verify projects are delivered on time, within cost, consumption and carbon budgets, and to the client's satisfaction.
This is a hybrid role with the option to work remotely and spend some time each month in the Capita Manchester Office.
What you'll be doing:
- Support a cross-functional service delivery team of building and estate efficiency and decarbonisation engineers, retrofitting leads and property professionals to ensure consistent carbon accounting across sustainability projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product, and subject matter experts, to facilitate smooth contract execution.
- Analy s e data and conduct research to support sustainability initiatives and a p roficiency in using software for data analysis and carbon accounting , Whole Life Carbon A ssessments, circular economy statements and biodiversity net gain calculations .
What we're looking for:
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of energy systems, building materials, and construction techniques , or land management, ecological reporting and biodiversity net gain.
- A degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, sustainability, engineering, built environment specialisms , or a related discipline
- A keen interest in developing experience working on lifecycle carbon accounting across projects is required in non-domestic buildings/estates to an approved standard.
- Familiarity with sustainability assessment tools and frameworks like BREEAM, PassivHaus , Whole Life Carbon Assessments (e.g. ICMS3) , circular economy statements and biodiversity net gain calculations , or similar
- Passion for Sustainability: A genuine interest in pursuing a career in sustainability in the built environment and land assets and a commitment to promoting environmental responsibility. Enthusiasm for staying updated with the latest sustainability trends and practices.
