About the Role:
As a Graduate Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the operation and management of in-house laser cladding systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the ongoing development of industrial laser cladding processes.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate in-house laser cladding systems, including the YLS 4500 Fibre Laser by IPG and the LDM 3000 Diode Laser by Laserline.
- Take full control of the laser cell, ensuring all tooling and consumables are prepared for each job.
- Safely load heavy parts into the system and position them accurately.
- Apply correct parameters and settings for each loaded job.
- Teach and edit programs for a large-scale multi-axis system based on a Kuka robot.
- Contribute to the continuous development of industrial laser cladding processing.
- Manage training needs and maintain all data cards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Keep accurate records of operations, stock levels, and equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Familiarity with mechanical or materials engineering, including measuring tools and techniques.
- Basic workshop skills, including safe use of hand and power tools.
- Understanding or experience in laser materials processing, welding, or other high-temperature fusion processes.
- Experience in programming CNC systems or robotics.
- Knowledge of materials engineering or metallurgy.
