The Electrical Estimator will play a crucial role in securing a variety of new projects from ICP to Full turnkey works, ranging from 400v to 33KV. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, analysing project requirements, and ensuring competitive and profitable pricing.
This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and clients.
Essential:
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- A minimum of 3 years proven experience within an estimating role, or similar.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet or estimating software.
- The ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.
- Strong understanding of the residential construction process
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines.
- Valid UK Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- IDNO / ICP / EV/18th Edition Works/ Battery Storage / Renewable Energy background or experience
- Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment while making sure these are kept up to date.
- Lead tendering process for new projects ranging from 400V to 33KV as well as the involvement in Full Turnkey projects.
- Reviewing customer project specifications, drawings, and any other documents that will contribute to the project in terms of equipment type, assessment of cable types, quantities, scope of works.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and contractors to gather necessary material costs.
- Assessing the risk levels and challenges associated with a project and developing plans to minimize the impact on the project timescales or costs.
- Preparing and submitting quotations highlighting scope of works, terms and conditions along with initial designs detail, while adhering to tender deadlines.
- Carrying out scoping visits and conducting client meetings.
- Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers
- Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs.
- Collaborating with other departments in the business to provide handover documentation as well as discussions on any specific projects.
