We are expanding our Water teams in the UK, we have a strong forward workload delivering high profile infrastructure projects.
We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our UK Water Resources team across our UK offices, by recruiting an experienced Water Engineer. Predominantly working on Rainwater Management and SuDS projects.

Missions/Main Duties
We have an opportunity for an experienced Water Engineer to join our growing Water team.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Water, Environment and Infrastructure sectors.

The Water Engineer will be accountable for the design delivery of allocated project deliverables, focusing on Rainwater, River and Water management infrastructure.
Working In Collaboration With Our Designers And Contract Partners, The Water Engineer Will Be Involved In a Variety Of Tasks Such As, But Not Limited To
- Undertake design of rainwater management engineering solutions and/or SuDS solutions and/or river and watercourse engineering solutions such as flood defences, river restoration, erosion protection, and hydraulic structures.
- Conduct hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments using software packages such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, or Flood Modeller.
- Work closely with the BIM team to translate design into 3D models
- Provide technical input in the development of sustainable and climate-resilient solutions.
- Ensure designs meet relevant water and environmental regulations in collaboration with the technical lead.
- Collaborate with environmental and ecological consultants to assess the impacts of projects on local habitats and biodiversity.
- Contribute to the Water and Flooding element of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and support environmental permitting processes.
- Communicate with the Client and with Project Engineers to understand project requirements.
- Plan, specify and manage packages of Water and/or River engineering design work.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Implement design solutions with a focus on environmental sustainability and compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Adhere to stringent quality assurance and control processes, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly the CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Effective management of, and response to, project related correspondence.
- Support the Engineering Manager and Project Director where required.
Profile/Skills
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Water/Rivers related field such as Geography/Civil Engineering, or
- HNC/HND in Rivers Related Field such as Geography with significant experience in Water Catchment Management.
- Extensive Experience working in the Water Sector with a proven track record in undertaking the technical delivery of Rainwater Management, Rivers and/or SuDS projects.
Professional Memberships
- Commitment to gaining Chartered Water Manager, Chartered Environmentalist, status if not already achieved.
Software
Essential
Advanced user of relevant hydrology and hydraulic modelling software and/or BIM/CAD software.
Technical
- The candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of principals of Rainwater Management and/or SuDs,
- Have a working knowledge in design such as attenuating rain gardens, bio-retention systems, constructed wetlands, ponds, swales etc.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic models
- Have a working knowledge of relevant standards, manuals and guidance, including Sewers for Adoption.
- Have a working knowledge of relevant standards (BS / ISO / Other international standards).
- Knowledge of relative duty holders under CDM 2015
