Civil engineering is a central aspect of how we build, maintain and experience the modern world. Arup has been a leader in civil engineering for over 50 years, designing the vital water, energy and transport infrastructure that cities, countries and communities depend on.
We work with clients to plan, build, integrate and maintain a wide variety of civil infrastructure, from bridges to reservoirs, from metro tunnels to off-shore wind farms. Our technical teams address every aspect of civil engineering design, working in close collaboration with the full breadth of Arup's other design and engineering disciplines.
We offer Industrial Placements in Civil Engineering in the following areas:
Transport: ( Locations include Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, Cardiff & Southampton )
The Civil Engineering team thrives on the diversity of our work. Projects undertaken by the team include highway and public realm design, sustainable urban drainage, utilities co-ordination, water and wastewater treatment and energy related projects. We often play a key role in large scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. The team is involved in projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept stage through to detailed design and construction, for a wide range of both public and private sector Clients

Arup Engineering teams thrive on the diversity of our work. Projects undertaken by our teams include highway and public realm design, masterplanning , sustainable urban drainage, flood risk and alleviation, flooding and coastal risk management schemes, river restoration, utilities co-ordination, water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure, rail and energy related projects (including offshore wind, tidal, hydrogen and solar projects). We often play a key role in large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, involved from the initial concept stage through to detailed design and construction for both public and private sector clients.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for students studying either a Degree or A Masters in Civil Engineering who can commit to a 10 month or year long placement.
