Join an established and reputable renewable energy developer with a proven track record of delivering solar PV, onshore wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the UK. They are seeking a proactive and motivated junior-mid Level Project Developer to join their team in London. You will play a critical role in originating, developing, and managing renewable energy projects from initial site identification through to the delivery of consented projects.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess potential sites for solar PV, onshore wind, and BESS projects across the UK.
- Conduct feasibility studies, including resource assessment, grid connection analysis, and environmental considerations.
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders.
- Lead community consultation events to ensure local buy-in and address concerns.
- Prepare and manage planning applications, ensuring compliance with UK planning laws and regulations.
- Liaise with consultants (e.g., environmental specialists, legal advisors) to support the planning process.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure milestones are met.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure effective communication between internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and market opportunities that could impact project development.
- Provide input to strategic decisions on project pipeline expansion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 2-4 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on solar PV, onshore wind, or BESS.
- Demonstrated experience with UK planning and permitting processes is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under deadlines.
- Proficiency in GIS software and renewable energy modelling tools is a plus.
- Willingness to travel across the UK as needed for site visits and stakeholder meetings.
- Valid UK driving license preferred.
