Oxford Engine Icing Group (OTI) is a part of the Particle Deposition group at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute. Our focus is on supporting engine manufacturers by developing predictive models for Ice Crystal Icing in Jet Engines.

Icing Altitude Wind Tunnel Project Engineer at the University of Oxford

The Oxford Particles Research Group is looking for the driving force behind the freshly announced Oxford Icing at Altitude Wind Tunnel (IAWT). We seek a full-time Project Engineer to wind up and lead the design, procurement, and installation of the multi-million-pound test facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build a state-of-the-art test facility

• Manage the procurement of equipment including vacuum pumps, air heaters, and chillers

• Collaborate with leading academics, researchers, and external contractors

About You:

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar field)

• Experience in mechanical design, heat transfer, and safety regulations

• Strong project management and communication skills

This is a fixed-term, two-year role based at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute, a world-leading research centre.
