What will I be doing:
As a Junior DevOps / Hardware Projects Engineer you will be conducting quality tests, benchmarking performance, and designing future hardware platforms for the Darktrace Cyber Intelligence Platform (DCIP). Working closely with our development and QA departments, you ensure the stability, reliability, and efficiency of our hardware platform. Additionally, you will be focused on:
- Enhancing internal systems to streamline workflows, boost productivity, and fortify critical business systems,
- Collaborating with the Cyber Support team,
- Diagnosing and resolving customer hardware issues promptly, ensuring seamless operations.
As a Junior DevOps / Hardware Project Engineer you will support the business by assisting our wider logistic team in the deployment of our physical server platform to our growing customer base. This key role requires, and presents an opportunity to develop, an understanding of enterprise grade server equipment and Linux server back-end scripting.
Please note this is an office based role and will require 5 days a week in the Cambridge office.
What experience do I need:
The right candidate should have a solid foundation in server components, networking, and troubleshooting, coupled with strong communication and organizational abilities. Hands-on experience in Linux, scripting, and technical project management using tools like Gitlab would be greatly beneficial. Experience with the following would advantageous:
- Experience in programming languages such as C++, Bash, and Python,
- A deep understanding of quality assurance processes.
It would be also beneficial if you also had expertise in Ansible for server management, Virtual Machines, ZFS, Docker/Kubernetes, and REST APIs's.
