We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Construction Director with a deep background in modular buildings, steel structures, and pre-fabrication. The ideal candidate will bring over 20 years of expertise in delivering large-scale construction projects, overseeing the entire project lifecycle from pre-construction through to post-construction. This role is based in Saudi Arabia and will be integral to the success of innovative, high-profile construction projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage large-scale construction projects, focusing on modular building systems, steel, and pre-fabrication, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Pre-construction Planning: Oversee initial project planning, including feasibility studies, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Collaborate with design, engineering, and procurement teams to create and implement efficient project plans.
- Construction Execution: Direct on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is performed to high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. Monitor day-to-day operations and resolve challenges to keep projects on track.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders. Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to all parties.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local, national, and international building codes and regulations. Drive a culture of safety across all project teams.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures throughout the construction process, ensuring all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- Post-construction Oversight: Lead the handover process and ensure successful project closeout. Address any post-construction issues and conduct project evaluations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications And Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 25 years in construction project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects from inception through to completion.
- Sector Expertise: Extensive experience in modular construction, steel frameworks, and pre-fabrication methods, with a solid understanding of the unique challenges and advantages of these building techniques.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Professional Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered status) are highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and people management abilities, with experience leading large, diverse teams.
- Strong financial and resource management skills.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s construction regulations and experience with projects in the Middle East region is an advantage.
