The opportunity –
We’re offering a chance to work on industry-leading projects in the energy sector, with a focus on nuclear, hydrogen, and low-carbon energy. As a Project Controls Manager, you’ll work closely with our Director of Project Controls and Decarbonisation Lead to ensure the successful delivery of these pioneering schemes.

Your day to day –
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed project schedules across all phases of delivery, ensuring alignment with project milestones and client expectations.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, implement cost control measures, and provide regular cost forecasts to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle to minimise impacts on project outcomes.
- Performance Reporting: Generate regular progress reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as earned value, schedule performance, and cost variances, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
- Resource Allocation: Work with project teams to determine resource requirements and ensure that the necessary personnel and materials are available to meet project goals.
- Change Management: Oversee change control processes, ensuring that any scope changes are properly documented, costed, and incorporated into the project plan.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on project controls, ensuring alignment with client and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement best practices in project controls, continuously improving processes and systems to increase efficiency and project success.
- Compliance: Ensure that all project controls adhere to industry standards and meet the regulatory frameworks, particularly in the nuclear and low-carbon energy sectors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and finance teams, to ensure integrated project delivery.
About You –
- Experienced in project controls, ideally in nuclear or low-carbon energy sectors.
- Knowledgeable about energy transition projects, particularly hydrogen and net-zero.
- Proficient in scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and cost management software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex data sets and draw insights to inform project decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
- A proactive problem solver, with a passion for delivering results in complex environments.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for nuclear and low-carbon projects is a plus.
