Due to expansion, our client are seeking a Tendering Engineer with experience in the Automation industry (Digital, Control and Safety) - Software, Hardware or Electrical engineering.
This is an exciting new role based on expansion with flexible working of two days from home alongside core working hours between 9:30am - 3:00pm with flexibility to start and finish around you
The Role:
The role involves supporting the daily activities of the tendering function, providing a range of automation solutions for clients in the Energy Sector, and reporting to the Head of Sales. Responsibilities include taking the lead on bids or coordinating closely with the bid lead and business head for each opportunity. This will involve preparing pre-qualification and proposal documentation, identifying and defining solutions to meet client needs, preparing cost estimates, and handling client queries.
The successful candidate ideally shall be technically knowledgeable and experienced in Automation – Software, hardware or Electrical engineering in a solution delivery or sales environment.

Duties:
- Working with the Business Development Managers (BDMs) to provide technical support, Automation and control system architectures, cost estimates, etc
- Ensuring compliance with internal bid governance and tendering processes.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with technology providers to understand the latest technologies and to ensure compliant deliverable solutions are developed.
- Carrying out surveys on customer sites as required to identify scope, scale, implementation philosophies, etc of Control and Safety Schemes
- Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, produce subcontract specifications in liaison with procurement, for providers to quote against and reviewing their tender returns for compliance and value.
- Producing detailed Control and Safety orientated proposal documents that are well structured
Desirable Requirements:
- Ability to create technically and commercially comprehensive proposal documents.
- Understanding of the energy generation and renewable sectors, including relevant standards, with a focus on software.
- Experience working with major OEMs in SCADA, PLC, DCS, and Functional Safety, including Siemens, Rockwell, and Schneider Electric.
- Basic knowledge of Cyber Security standards (IEC 62443) and their implementation.
- Understanding of the Energy generator and renewable sector and its associated standards, with a Software bias
