What You’ll Do
- Develop and optimize cutting-edge algorithms to enhance asset performance and drive innovation in renewable energy operations.
- Design bespoke analytics tools for GreenPowerMonitor, harnessing data insights and cross-functional expertise from DNV Energy Systems.
- Employ advanced techniques such as time series forecasting, anomaly detection, signal processing, probabilistic modeling, and natural language processing (NLP) to tackle renewable energy challenges.
- Collaborate with fellow data scientists and domain experts to deliver high-impact solutions across various renewable technologies.
- Lead innovation projects from ideation through prototype development to production handover, integrating feedback from customers and stakeholders.
- Build scalable, production-grade data science solutions using a comprehensive range of statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques.
- Manage the algorithm lifecycle, ensuring continuous improvement through prototyping, testing, and refinement.
- Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations and effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support joint projects by providing coding expertise, advisory support, and algorithm testing.

About You
Which competencies do you bring?
- A university degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with functional and/or object-oriented programming skills.
- Proven experience with standard machine learning libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost) and parameter tuning.
- Familiarity with advanced concepts such as reinforcement learning, Bayesian inference, optimization, simulation, and stochastic processes.
- Proven experience utilizing core statistical methods, including checking distributions, correlation/association analysis, multivariate analysis, hypothesis testing, dimensionality reduction, and performance statistics.
- Familiarity with product team interactions.
It Would Be An Advantage If You Had
- Experience in the renewable energy industry.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of deep learning models.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Kubeflow).
