Job Description
Functions and Objective
The Renewable Energy Specialist will be responsible for carrying out site surveys, evaluating potential locations for solar energy and air source heat pump installations, and collecting data to aid in the design and setup of solar power systems.
The main goal of this role is to consistently achieve or surpass sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) while ensuring an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct detailed site surveys for potential solar & ASHP installations, including residential, commercial, and industrial locations.
· Assess the suitability of sites for solar panel installations by evaluating factors such as roof condition, shading, orientation, and structural integrity.
· Use surveying tools and software to collect accurate data, including measurements, photographs, and site sketches.
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to provide precise site information for system design and installation planning.
· Prepare comprehensive survey reports, including site plans, layout diagrams, and recommendations for optimal solar panel placement.
· Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards during the survey process.
· Communicate effectively with clients, property owners, and other stakeholders to explain survey results and address any concerns or questions.
· Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in solar energy surveying and installation.
Qualifications / Skills:
Essential
· Proven experience in surveying, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Physical ability to conduct site surveys, including climbing ladders, accessing rooftops, and working in various weather conditions.
· Valid driver’s license.
Desirable
· Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to solar installations is desirable.
Salary Range:
£24,000 to £60,000 based on salary plus Commission / Bonuses

Person Specification:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Solar Surveyor to join our team.
The ideal person will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
They require excellent communication skills and a passion for renewable energy.
Attention to detail in gathering data and ensuring accurate site measurements.
Proficient in using surveying tools and relevant software (e.g., CAD, PV design tools, or site analysis software).
Good IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Additional Information:
- Must be able to drive and have no more than 5 points on licence. A vehicle is supplied for work use.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK (Visa sponsorship not available)
- You will be required to travel and at times lodge away from home, as required by the company. In the event of travel, lodging expenses will be covered by the company in line with HMRC guidelines.
