Our client, a leading data analytics and marine robotics business, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their esteemed subsea technology team. As a pioneer in large-scale marine robotic operations, our client utilizes cutting-edge technologies to capture ocean data and deliver maritime solutions while prioritizing sustainability and environmental responsibility.
What will you be doing?
As a Software Engineer, you will be key in developing and integrating new software capabilities for sophisticated robotic equipment deployed from Armada vessels.
- Receive training on software control systems for uncrewed vessels.
- Assist in software building, testing, and deployment.
- Develop interface adapters and C++ programs.
- Contribute to software design, specification, and documentation.
- Integrate control systems with 3rd party systems (vessel control systems, ROVs, etc.).
- Document developments and follow software development practices.
- Collaborate with OEMs and vendors to resolve software issues.
- Engage in peer code reviews.
- Support software architecture development and participate in sprints.
Are you the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
Essential:
- 5+ years of engineering experience.
- Proficient in C++ and .NET/C# software development.
- Familiar with version control (Git) and basic networking principles.
- Interest in robotic control systems.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and deadline-driven.
- Strong passion for robotics in the ocean sector.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with QT, Jira, and Confluence.
- Knowledge of marine survey systems (GNSS, inertial navigation).
- Understanding of satellite, telephony, and digital radio systems.
- Experience with Virtual Machines and PLCs.
