We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a
QC inspector to join our manufacturing team in
Stockton.
This role pays between £45,000 - £50,000.

Position
The QC Inspector within Glacier Energy ensures they meet safety standards through material checks, weld inspections, non-destructive testing, and pressure tests. You will be CSWIP 3.1/3.2 certified and maintain documentation to ensure safety and reliability in high-pressure environments.
Accountability
- Performing surveillance, as required by the Inspection and Test Plan and documenting all inspections on the appropriate formats, including consumable control, vacpac checks, etc
- Ensure that fabrication, erection and installation is carried out in accordance with the appropriate requirements including cutting, tacking, fit-up inspection, dimensional and weld acceptance and that good practices are adopted and adhered to
- Verification that welds are performed by qualified welders, in accordance with approved procedures and the resultant welds are in compliance with the requirements
- Carryout weld procedure, production test and general parameter monitoring including setting up of welding plant, where required.
- Check delivery quantity against delivery note and sign off relevant delivery documents
- Inspect all incoming goods for quality and advise of any defects or damage
- Full dimensional inspection of all incoming materials and certification
- Verify compliance with traceability requirements (e.g. 3.1 Material Certificates etc)
- Record welding , material traceability data from the shopfloor and input into AESSOP
- Organise and create AESSOP Requests for NDT, PWHT, Hardness, Pressure Test and Painting
- Perform final inspection and release of items to clients
- Actively participate in stock take activities
- Other tasks related to material accuracy and goods in activities
- Work in a manner, which protects the health, safety and welfare of self and others
- Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters relating to company business
- Look after company interests at all times
Responsible Welding Co-ordinator (WRC) Deputy
- Assist Welding Engineer with Welder / Welding Operator qualifications to ensure they are to the relevant certifying code and compliance and prolongation is maintained.
- Ensure that Welder / Weld traceability data base (AESSOP) is maintained to enable evidence for prolongation to be produced & welder repair rates to be monitored.
- Check and maintain Weld Consumables store and stock to ensure compliance and traceability
- Conduct job specific Weld Audits on a weekly basis
Requirements
Experience
- CWIP 3.1/3.2 certified
- Experience in shopfloor inspections and weld inspection
- IT literate with experience using a MRP system in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to read manufacturing general assembly drawings
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- You must be able to work on your own initiative
- Forklift experience would be preferred but not essential.
