KnitMesh Technologies, the leading manufacturer and supplier of precision-engineered knitted wire mesh, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Head Office in Holywell, near Chester.

As an export-focused company serving global markets, our business is rapidly expanding, with expected growth rates exceeding 30% annually.
This thrilling opportunity has arisen as we have recently secured substantial new contracts. To support this exciting growth both now and in the foreseeable future, we are enhancing our engineering capabilities. As a result, we are seeking an experienced electromechanical technician to join our Engineering team. This is a diverse and expansive role.
The Role:
- Perform mechanical and/or electrical modifications on production equipment to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on standard equipment, including presses and tooling.
- Maintain and repair Bespoke Automation and knitting equipment.
- Execute improvement programs on existing equipment to enhance Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Support the design and construction of special purpose equipment.
- Participate in developing new manufacturing techniques for new product lines.
- Program and operate test equipment.
- Aid in the integration of new machinery and processes into production.
- Offer general maintenance and assistance to production teams during shifts.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts during shifts and provide feedback to management on critical issues.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical/electrical discipline, or ideally, an HNC or equivalent in a mechanical/electrical discipline (electromechanical engineer).
- Minimum of 3 years in a fast-paced engineering environment, preferably in a maintenance role or as a production engineering/technician.
- Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Electrical training or qualifications would be beneficial.
- Essential mechanical experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use and program PLC and Inverter drives is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Preferably, understanding and experience with sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and drives.
- Proficient in using basic workshop equipment including manual lathe, miller, pillar drill, surface grinder, and hand tools.
- Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous but not a requirement.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and the ability to problem-solve with limited support.
Package:
- Base salary up to £37,000 per annum, in addition to shift payments.
- Additional compensation for overtime and call-outs, potentially leading to an achievable annual salary of £47,000.
- Standard working week consists of 40 hours spread over 5 days, with alternative shifts:
- 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and nights 10pm-6am, with one week of night shifts in a 5-week period.
