About The Role
This is a part time, fixed term contract until July 2025.
From September 2024, a Research Assistant is required (for a period of 10 months) to support the delivery of a project funded through the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account. This project aims to influence approaches to mental healthcare delivery by co-creating and disseminating a standardised and coherent evidence base on the potential of nature-based interventions (NBIs) to deliver concurrent benefits to both human wellbeing and ecological sustainability. NBIs are a diverse range of health interventions that use nature exposure to enhance human health and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will work within the Sustainable Wellbeing Research Group (https://sustainablewellbeingresearch.org/) and be expected to contribute to the following:
- Establishment a network of organisations working in the delivery of nature-based interventions.
- Organisation of an online co-creation workshop and in-person dissemination event.
- Collation of evidence surrounding the outcomes of engagement in NBIs from network members.
- Working with a website developer to create a website, housing evaluation resources.
- Create a toolkit with guidelines on effective intervention evaluation for use by network members.
- Writing up of papers and reports on the results of the project as required, in collaboration with the PI and collaborators.
- Dissemination of the results of the project at academic conferences, general public events and social media (when relevant).
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to work collaboratively with partners across charities, community organisations, academia, and Welsh Government to conduct research designed to generate real impact in how nature-based interventions are implemented across different healthcare and community settings.
