Role based on a hybrid basis in London.
I am representing a client in the renewables space for an experienced Grid Manager to join a leading energy company. Specialising in the development and operation of large-scale, grid-connected renewable projects, including solar, storage and wind. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with the management of the grid connection aspects of the projects from initial conception to full planning submission status, through to FID and construction stage.
Responsibilities
• Identifying and assessing new leads and following the journey with the DNO, and the Land team, until the lead progresses to an active project.
• Completing formal grid connection applications and review grid connection offers.
• Designing/specifying and budgetary pricing substation and relevant grid infrastructure equipment for the connection of projects.
• Carrying out due diligence and assess any grid opportunities that are presented.
• Engaging with Network Operators and trade bodies at Stakeholder events and ensuring that policies are helping, not hindering, renewable deployment and the route to #netzero.
• Engaging with ICPs, TAs and any other relevant technical parties.
• Technically reviewing new standards and policy documents and, where warranted, use the latest
• information to roll out process and design improvements.
• Being the go-to technical and grid design expertise person for any support required in the development and construction phases of projects.
• Engaging with the DNO/TO post-acceptance to ensure the project is moving along, all the procedural or technical boxes are ticked off and assist in managing the interface between DNO/TO and appointed ICPs/third party contractors.
Requirements
• Great communication skills and a structured way of working.
• Proven project experience in utility-scale solar and/or wind farm development and grid infrastructure design.
• DNO and Engineering Background.
• Experience in the design of multi-megawatt Solar PV installations using AutoCAD and PVSyst would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge and experience in working with distribution and transmission network operators (DNO/TO)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, or related discipline.
