Job Summary
The Liverpool Women's Hospital is the largest hospital in the country dedicated to the healthcare of women and babies. Commissioned in 1995, services are therefore provided in a modern and pleasant environment.
We are looking for a time served electrician to join our small but very committed team. You must have a flexible approach to work and be able to work on your own initiative.
Ideally you will be qualified to ONC level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and have at least three year's experience of multiskilling in basic mechanical engineering and plumbing services.
NHS experience would be an advantage but specific NHS training courses will be provided.
You must be able to participate in the Estates emergency out of hour's on-call rota.
Standard working week is 37.50 hours Monday to Friday working a 7.50 hour day between the core hours of 08:00 to 20:00 and you may be asked to work late/early starts and also some weekends.

Main duties of the job
- Understand the workings of the mechanical, plumbing, building services, electrical, electronic system in NHS buildings, i.e.
- Service, test, diagnose, repair and calibrate advanced mechanical, electrical and electronic installations, plant and equipment, deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others;
- Undertake duties of lower grade staff as appropriate on an ad hoc basis;
- Assemble, install and commission new work;
- Use all relevant tools and equipment and work in a safe manner. Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment as necessary and observe the Trust's policy associated with Health and Safety at Work;
- Instruct others on all aspects of his/her work;
- Liaise with professional, technical and contracted maintenance staff;
- Learn new techniques with training as necessary;
- Understand fully the relationship of tradesman's work with his/her own and appreciate the effect that the work of the Estates department has on the provision of healthcare in the Trust;
- Participate in the Estates on-call system designed to respond to requests for emergency work outside normal working hours;
- Undertake duties appropriate to the position as required by the management;
- Be conversant with current Health and Safety legislation and HTM's.
