Job Description
To manage the installation of commercial EV chargers, ensuring project delivery meets agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Oversee day-to-day operations, resource allocation, and ensure compliance with Health and Safety (H&S) standards. Facilitate communication with municipal institutions, authorities, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.

Position in Organisation
- The Project Manager is part of the Project Management team and is assigned a lead role by the Project Delivery organisation.
- Reports directly to the Head of EV on a per-project basis.
Major Roles And Responsibilities
- Delivery of facilities within schedule.
- Local contact for municipal institutions, authorities, and external stakeholders during the construction phase.
- Ensuring installations meet standard specifications and are within budget.
- Addressing deficiencies within agreed schedules.
- Driving Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) within the project team.
- Responsible for overall project budget and profitability.
- Ensuring overall quality assurance of the project.
- Oversee the implementation and operations of the project.
- Provide guidance to team members to achieve project goals.
- Develop project goals and strategies with the team.
- Ensure construction progresses according to timelines to meet installation acceptance dates.
- Promote initiatives to improve daily project operations.
- Manage and coordinate daily activities using available resources.
- Conduct evaluations of direct reports and provide regular feedback to line management.
- Enforce Health and Safety guidelines throughout the project duration.
- Manage and evaluate vendors according to agreed scopes of work.
- Focus on resource control, organisational cost controls, time reporting discipline, and maintaining project budget.
- Resolve any issues related to project implementation.
- Regularly report to the Head of EV on implementation performance.
- Identify and plan training requirements for staff development.
- Lead project teams with creative and innovative solutions for higher productivity.
- Ensure all risk assessments are conducted and recorded.
- Ensure all site equipment is fit for purpose and calibrated.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.
Educational Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certification.
- Basic ITIL knowledge is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within the electrical or construction industry, preferably in EV charger installations.
- Proven experience in leading EV charge point infrastructure rollout projects.
- Strong conceptual and analytical thinking and working.
- Excellent project management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of EV charging technologies and infrastructure requirements.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, especially related to EV charger installations.
- Experience with vendor management and subcontractor coordination.
- Familiarity with UK health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of financial impacts and budgeting in construction projects.
- Knowledge of relevant UK regulations and standards for electrical installations.
- Proficient in using project management and accounting software.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce as-built documentation.
- Strong interpersonal, social, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership qualities.
- Full UK driving license.
- Active membership in recognized organisations related to EV charging infrastructure development such as Electric Vehicle Association England (EVA England).
