Head of Artificial Intelligence
My client, based on the outskirts of Cambridge, are looking for a Head of Artificial Intelligence to spearhead their new AI initiative. The company has been going for a few years, but are very much in start-up mode, encouraging creativity, lack of red tape, and people who can look after and nurture a small team.
The role would suit someone who has extensive experience within both Machine Learning and Robotics, someone who has strong business savvy/acumen, and someone who is happy leading a diverse, multilingual team (some are based in the UK, some are offshored).
Within the role, you can expect to:
- Define and execute AI strategies in tandem with the CTO, ensuring alignment with the company's business goals
- Oversee the company's AI/ML models, ensuring fit for business purpose
- Build, scale, and manage a high-performing, technically astute Machine Learning Team
Key skills needed:
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics
- MBA - particular focus on people management
- Robotics skills - (ROS, Object Detection, Reinforcement Learning, and Automation)
- 10+ years' of experience in software development
- 4/5+ years' of experience in Machine Learning - NLP/LLM, Computer Vision, GenAI, Deep Learning
Desirable skills:
- Experience in start-ups / scaling a team
- Experience in helping a business go through funding rounds and the preparation between stages
