Location: Derbyshire (Hybrid: 2/3 days per week in office)
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000

Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical designs for commercial rooftop solar PV systems, including single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and cable sizing.
- Perform yield calculations, shading analysis, and load studies to optimise system performance.
- Ensure designs comply with UK standards, including G99/100 requirements and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Utilise software such as PV*SOL, AutoCAD, and other industry tools to create precise and efficient designs.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and bills of materials (BOM) for project documentation.
- Conduct site visits as required to assess feasibility, identify risks, and provide tailored design solutions.
- Stay up to date with advancements in solar PV technologies and industry best practices.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in solar PV design, particularly for commercial rooftop systems.
- Proficiency with PV*SOL, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
- Strong understanding of UK grid regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations, G99 accreditation) are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills for electrical calculations, energy yield forecasts, and system optimisation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in design solutions.
