The Opportunity
This opportunity is best suited for candidates in their penultimate year of study looking for a Summer role starting in June 2025 and concluding in August 2025.
Our Power and Renewables Research Team is a highly respected group of analysts producing market-leading research across the value chain, covering power markets, onshore and offshore wind, solar PV and energy storage. Our cutting-edge knowledge of power market dynamics combined with our understanding of renewable power supply chains, costs, deployments, and investment trends enables Wood Mackenzie to support its client’s commercial and strategic decisions amid a period of unprecedented change in the energy industry.
About The Role
Get involved with industry-leading analyses of rapidly evolving markets as part of on our European Power long-term research team. Indulge your curiosity, and build on your knowledge of power market fundamentals, clean energy policy and technologies through close collaboration with industry-leading subject matter experts. Follow your passion for the energy transition and contribute to original, client-facing research.
Requirements
Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification with an engineering, energy and/or economics focus.
Wood Mackenzie follows a hybrid work structure, however, during the duration of this internship, the successful candidate would highly benefit from being in the office frequently with the team and their line manager.
Applicants must have the legal Right to Work in the country this role is based in. We are unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
- Strong analytical/quantitative skills and the ability to work with large datasets
- A genuine interest in power market dynamics and knowledge of wider energy market concepts and/or the energy transition would be a distinct advantage
- Strong collaborative skills
- Great written and verbal communication
- An eye for detail and commitment to delivering quality outputs
- The ability to creatively problem solve
