Job Title: Systems Engineer

About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the ARO group. As the Systems Engineer, you will work closely with our clients to ensure business & IT systems run smoothly providing 2nd/3rd line support. Manage and deliver an effective IT support service for all hardware & software within the client's organisation. You will be representing ARO and will maintain a high level of professionalism always when dealing with IT team members and client staff alike.
What You'll Be Doing
- Administering, deploying and configuring Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 to 2022 including Active Directory and Group Policy creation
- Administering, deploying and configuring Microsoft Exchange Server from 2003 through to 2019 - remove this section
- Server Operating Systems including Server 2012 through to server 2022
- Knowledge of LAN / WAN hardware and router configurations
- Understanding of WIFI platforms
- Provide technical support to our user base, both remotely or on-site as required
- Attending sites to assist in the implementation and installation of new IT platforms
Requirements
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and networking
- Strong technical skills in Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, VMWare, Citrix, and networking technologies
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as Azure or AWS
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in an ITIL-based environment is preferred
Essential:
- You must be able and happy to complete an enhanced DBS check
- Server Operating Systems including Server 2003 through to server 2022
- O365 administration
- Server Hardware configuration and recommendation
- LAN switching configuration and trouble shooting
- Windows desktop operating systems
- Firewalling (Cisco Meraki, Fortigate or ASA) /VLAN Experience / router and connectivity troubleshooting)
- PC hardware and Printer hardware
- WIFI
- Sound IP troubleshooting skills including DHCP, DNS, IP addressing
- Comfortable administrating Azure AD, user account and Teams
Desirable:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Full Cisco Meraki Stack preferred but not essential
- Exchange 2003 through to 2019
- Hosted e-mail Platform - Google Workspace in particular
